“The sunrise was breathtaking, the whole experience of the color changes is a spectacle. Dan was an awesome tour guide, very funny and knowledgeable, gave a great tour. The top of the summit is very cold, definitely wear layers, you'll be able to leave your extra layers in the van for the switchbacks. You will need to take the layers for the second portion but you can use one of their backpacks or bring your own. The bike ride was very fun. The road is tight but it is totally doable for almost all levels of rider. We did self guided and are not avod riders and we did fine.…”

“The actual bike riding experience was great. My experience with Viator was not. Viator did not send me the address of where to meet. I tried logging on using the email I used to sign up and it would not work. It would send me an email to sign in without a password and then would tell me the email was incorrect. That was false because I received confirmation of the booking. We looked it up online and found an address for pickup at Baldwin. But nobody was there. I got a hold of someone at Viator on the phone which the phone number is very hard to find on…”

“We were going to do a tour with a company, but it was going to cost about $1000 for our family of 5- so we decided to rent a Jeep Wrangler and get this guide- and I’m so glad we did! The experience was incredible and the app made it easy to go at our own pace. The narration was very good, the driving music was very pleasant and we loved it. We used a dash/ window mount to hold my phone at eye level so we could see the GPS and the Bluetooth connected the sound to the car so everyone could hear the audio. Shaka Guide was excllent…”

However, it was disappointing to learn during the pre-ride instructions that the section through Kula is closed to riders. I would have benefitted from being informed ahead of time.
